GENERAL UPDATE
In late December 2020, NEMS received a limited supply of COVID-19 vaccine. We have already started vaccinating our front-line staff and are working promptly to administer the vaccine to staff in our continuous efforts to keep all NEMS sites safe and healthy.
When vaccinations become available to the public, we will notify our patients on how they can receive the vaccine and in accordance with state and local guidelines.

North East Medical Services (NEMS) is providing COVID-19 testing to SYMPTOMATIC and HIGH-RISK ASYMPTOMATIC patients that have a testing order from a NEMS provider. The COVID-19 test will be conducted through one of our drive-thru or walk-thru testing sites.
You must be an existing NEMS patients -OR- you can register as a new NEMS patient to make an appointment. Please call us at 415-391-9686 ext. 8160 to be screened first or to register/renew as a NEMS patients.

- When calling, please be patient and continue to hold until you speak to an agent. We are experiencing high call volumes during daytime hours. You can also try calling from 6:00PM to 9:00PM or Saturday and Sunday.
- If you are having a medical or psychiatric emergency, please dial 911 or go to the nearest hospital immediately.
- On-call doctors will continue to be available after 6:00 PM for urgent issues.
CHANGES TO NEMS CLINICS
Most NEMS clinics are NOW OPEN for in-person care by appointment only.

SAFETY AND SOCIAL DISTANCING PROTOCOLS
If you need to come in-person to a NEMS Clinic, please remember to:
- Call ahead to make an appointment: 415-391-9686 or 650-550-3923 or 408-573-9686
- Avoid entering the facility if you have a cough or fever.
- Wear a face covering (mask, scarf, bandana, etc.). In San Francisco, surgical masks are required in any health care facility.
- Maintain at least six feet (6') of distance from others.
- To comply with County Health Orders, please arrive no earlier than 15 minutes before your appointment.
- Only 1 caretaker or guardian may accompany a patient if needed.
- Health screenings (temperature checks and screening questions) will be asked and performed prior to entry into the clinic.
- Please bring your NEMS ID, insurance cards, and active medication bottles to your visit.
- Indoor waiting areas may be limited or restricted for safety purposes. We may need to ask that you wait outside.
- Abide by our Social Distancing Protocols and follow the instructions of NEMS staff on site.
NEMS is actively screening the temperatures of all visitors and staff; and will be implementing additional cleaning and sanitation practices.
The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) is a global outbreak that
has affected people in many countries, including Mainland
China and the United States. Local, state, and now the federal government has since declared public health emergencies in hopes of stopping the spread of this disease.
The most common symptoms of COVID-19 are fever, cough and shortness of breath. If you have traveled to a country/region with cases of the new virus, and you develop symptoms, call your doctor and tell them about your symptoms and your recent travel.
