Are you interested in volunteering at North East Medical Services? We are looking for caring and enthusiastic individuals who want to give back to the community. Volunteers can work with patients or help out behind-the-scenes in a wide range of activities and departments. We have flexible shifts, and volunteers are asked to complete a minimum of 150 hours within a 3-6 month period.

Position Description:
We’re looking for motivated volunteers willing to work with young overweight children age 7-12 years old for our iStart Smart Program. The iStart Smart Program is designed to be an 8 week curriculum with a nutrition classroom component and a physical activity component for overweight children recruited from North East Medical Services clinics. The volunteers will assist with age-appropriate activities, facilitate group activities under class instructors, engage the children into physical activities and accompany children/parent to local Safeway. The goal would be to engage two groups (7-9 year olds and 10-12 year olds with up to 10 kids per group) into performing safe and fun activities for their age groups.
Time Commitment:
8 Saturdays (10/7/2017 to 12/9/2017, No Classes on 11/18/2017 & 11/25/2017 For Thanksgiving) for a total of 2 hours (10AM to 12 PM or 11AM to 1 PM) each Saturday.
