Radiology (X-Ray)

NEMS' Laboratory is a comprehensive, full service medical laboratory. It provides extensive services in the following areas:

• Blood chemistry testing for diabetes, cholesterol, thyroid, kidney disorders, etc.
• Liver disease testing for hepatitis and other liver problems
• Hematology testing for anemia, red blood cell, white blood cell, and platelet disorders
• Urine testing for infections, diabetes, and pregnancy
• Infection testing
• Special testing for other types of medical problems

Your NEMS provider can order laboratory tests for you as medically necessary. A Request Form will be given to you to bring to the Laboratory in order to avoid any delays in your testing. The Laboratory will send all laboratory reports to the ordering provider (usually your PCP), who will discuss and explain the results to you and recommend any necessary follow-up or referral services.

The NEMS Pharmacy, currently located on the 1st Floor of the Stockton Street Clinic, provides prescription and over-the-counter medications for NEMS patients. If you receive medical or dental care at NEMS, you will pay at your co-payment level for prescription medications. Patients may also be eligible to participate in various government and private programs, which offer medications through the NEMS Pharmacy with minimal or no co-payment.

NEMS provides basic x-rays on-site when ordered by your provider. After an x-ray is taken, the films are read by our radiologist. Your primary care provider will give you the results with an explanation.

Radiology services include:

• General chest x-rays
• Bone, abdomen, and skull x-rays
• Mammograms
• Bone density
• Ultra-sound
