NEMS is committed to using state-of-the-art technology to better serve its patients.

In 2008, the NEMS Dental and Radiology Departments switched to digital x-ray systems to help increase accuracy and safety. Compared to traditional x-ray, the new systems save time and reduce exposure to radiation for both patients and staff.

The Radiology Department also utilizes the Picture Archive and Communication System (PACS), an electronic network that allows radiologists to view, annotate, and send x-rays digitally.

In 2009, NEMS launched Electronic Health Records (EHR), which will be replacing traditional paper medical charts. Electronic health records will increase efficiency and provide up-to-date health information. NEMS expects to roll out the system to all of its locations and departments by the end of 2010.
